Breakfast for Tearfund 2015
On 9th May, we enjoyed breakfast together, with men as well as women invited this time.
After the meal and a time of worship, we listened to Dave Cooling talk about the work which Tearfund is doing through local churches in the developing world.
It was very moving watching a presentation showing how Tearfund has been trying to prevent child trafficking in the villages of Nepal – and realising that these places have since been devastated by an earthquake. The collection taken at the meal raised £185 towards the emergency relief fund.
We were challenged encourage our young people to visit developing countries as part of a gap year etc and to live more simple lives, to safeguard the world’s resources for future generations.
